I just had a feeling of nostalgia. Before 9/11 what was the previous
discussion of an date which a major attack took place that everyone
preached that it 'could have been prevented'?

December 7th - Pearl Harbor. As a kid, I heard because of FDR's blind
intentions to make continue the peace with Japan, we concentrated on
the diplomats over here negotiating, not the blips on radar coming in.
Also, after the attack, the US protected the Japanese ambassadors and
escorted safely out of the US.

I'm not even middle aged and I remember this being taught this school.
Is 9/11 being taught the same way? That in 1998 war was declared on
the US by Bin Laddin, and we did nothing? USS Cole and two embassies
were attacked and we did nothing? That a later former President
admitted that Bin Laddin was being offered, and he felt it was
unnecessary to capture him?

I just have a feeling once another "Enemy-friendly" president gets in
office, we will be talking about some other date that 'could have been
prevented' and 12/7 and 9/11 will be retired to the history books.

When you let enemies of peace prevail, I guess history of their
attacks on you do repeat, and could be prevented.

Later,
