To Whom It May Concern

To Whom It May Concern

Isn't hijacking an airplane and killing thousands of people
already illegal. Why all the new legislation and powers? You already
have the authority to judge and condemn the perpetrators.
A great failure. That the terrorists have not been tried and
convicted postumously. To send their guilt to haunt them in their
next lives. Why leave them unmolested with their martyrdom.
We always do it wrong at frist. Look at the war with Germany and
Japan. It took years to get that right. Look at Lincoln's generals.
It took many to find the right one. Seems like every time America has
a great task to attend, we do it wrong for a while first. But then we
finally come around. Even in the revolution many were Royalists at
first. It was only after the clear path was found that we began to
look back at the Tea Party as a good early step.
About open society verses closed society. The self destroyers
come from a closed society. They use the fact that we are an open
society against us. Anyone can come here. Anyone can get an
education here, even learn to fly large planes. Anyone can get on a
plane. Consider that they use their closed society against us. We
have not found many of their leaders yet. We don't know where they
are or what they really want. We don't understand their real motives.
Look back at the only success. On that day, one thing went well.
A man's wife called him on the cell phone. Told him what the news
was. He decided to not be a passenger and stood up with the immortal
words "Let's roll." It was the open nature of our news and re****ting.
The open nature of our communications. The free will of our
citizens. This is how one plane was stopped.
But what has been our reaction for the last couple of years. We
have become more like the enemy. We have become more closed. More
secretive. Instead of opening up more CIA information for the public,
we have created more oversight to keep it more secret. Instead of
alowing more people on planes, people who won't sit for it, we have
made lists of people who can't get on. Instead of focusing on
bringing their evil wisdom into the light, we don't talk about Osama
at all any more.
Seems like we always do it wrong for a while at first. We have
become more like the enemy. More closed and excusive. It is just
that we should take the path and do that wich our enemy hates. Open
up more, become more inclusive, and empower every individual check
their neigbors shoes. And most im****tantly, let's keep our heads.
