It's true that our economy currently breaks records. It's also true,
sadly,
that a good part of this (within Germany - foreign countries are another
case indeed) is due to the hefty tax increase that will impact on new
year's day... the largest tax increase since the Federal republic of
Germany exists. Thus, many people who planned to purchase this-or-that
expensive thingie (say, a nice TV set, or a new car) for quite some time
now hurry to get it done in what remains of this year.
As I see it, we'll know how much of it all was just a "straw fire" next
Summer.

So, for all you Americans out there who are (wich much justification I
admit) worried about "us" overtaking "you" again, things may not be as bad
as they look for you right now.
