Zappia's Super Spaghetti Sauce
2 lbs ground beef
3 cans Italian plum tomatoes (pureed and seeded)
1 can tomato sauce
3 small cans tomato paste
6 garlic buds
3 large onions
3 cans drained mushrooms
3 tbsp parsley
1 1/2 tbsp Italian spices
1 1/2 tbsp basil
1 1/2 tbsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup parmesan cheese (only add just before serving)
1. Chop in food processor onion and garlic.
2. Brown in 1 tbsp oil the onion, garlic and meat.
3. In a large dutch oven, add tomatoes, sauce and paste. Add 1 can
water. Stir until smooth over medium heat.
4. All all spices and cook for 10 minutes without meat until boiling.
5. Add meat and stir. Cook for 2 1/2 - 3 hours over minimum heat.
6. A 1/2 hour before ready, add parmesan cheese.
