Baked Ziti
1 lb ground beef
1 lb sweet Italian sausage
1 onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced (optional)
2 jars (24 oz each) marinara sauce
1 can (16 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
1 tsp Italian seasoning
2 tsp garlic powder
3 cups Mozzarella cheese (divided 2 cups, 1 cup)
1 lb ziti or penne, cooked
Parmesan cheese for topping (optional)
Preheat oven to 350F.
Brown ground beef, Italian sausage and onion until no pink remains.
Drain.
In a separate bowl, add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning and garlic
powder; stir. Add 2 cups mozzarella cheese and pasta; stir. Add meat
and cooked pasta, stirring well.
Pour mixture into 9x13" casserole dish. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup
mozzarella cheese on top.
Bake for 60 minutes, or until heated through.
Top with Parmesan cheese. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes and serve.
Makes 8-10 servings. Leftovers are great!
