You are way too politicized. I lived in Texas for ten years. It's called
a
weak governor state, and while the governor (Bush) was Republican, the
Lieutenant-Governor was a Democrat and so was most of the state
legislature.
The real problem is that Texas has never had the regulations of other
states. I built my own house and most of the contractors, including the
general contractor, were not required to have a license. I've seen
brand-new houses that had to be torn down as uninhabitable. This has very
little to do with politics of either party, and a lot to do with people
getting ripped off. So now they need the regulation.
