"Jews" don't need to. People do, because lies can do real harm.
As a recent and devastating example, consider the clearly visible effect
of
officially-sup****ted hate speech directed against a large segment of the
Rwandan population, which led directly to the murder of over 800,000
people
in about 100 days.
This isn't a game. People die. Smarten up.
You might find the film "Shooting Dogs" to be helpful. In any case, if
you
really *are* this ignorant of the effects of hate speech, you should get
some education about what happened in Rwanda, and how the murders were
implemented. There's lots of material available, including current trial
transcripts.
Your question also ignores the long existence of libel and slander laws,
which exist in most societies.
And finally, your question also ignores other social efforts at censor****p
