They certainly don't feel the same way about everything.  But one thing 
they do all feel the same way about is that they believe in God and in 
Jesus as the son of God.  (Otherwise they couldn't call themselves 
Christians.)  That alone rankles quite a few people on the New Left who 
regard all religious beliefs as backward superstitions.

(The *Old* Left didn't feel that way at all.  Martin Luther King Jr. was 
a Reverend, in fact, and invoked God in many of his speeches on black 
civil rights.  Father Drinan and the Berrigan brothers were left-wing 
antiwar Christian activists.  But once feminism and gay activism became 
the new causes of the Left, the Left abandoned religion because the 
Christian religion offers a traditional view of human ***uality.)
