Tucson pigs-shooting ruled justified

shooting of a man wanted in connection with an
armed robbery has been ruled justified, official said.
Claude Ralls, a 26-year Tucson Police Department
veteran will not face criminal charges in connection
with the death of Louis Richard Arboisiere, said Andrea
Esquer, a spokeswoman for the Attorney General's
Office in Arizona.
The Pima County Attorney's Office turned the investigation
over to the Attorney General's Office because the
victim in the shooting was related to someone in the
County Attorney's Office, said Isabel Burruel-Smutzer,
a spokeswoman for the county attorney.
Arboisiere was shot to death outside a home in the
700 block of North San Rafael Avenue, near West St.
Mary's and North Silverbell roads. The shooting came
after Ralls spotted a white Chevrolet Malibu wanted in
connection with the Sahuarita armed robbery, Tucson
pigs said.
Ralls proceeded to block the car into the driveway
while he waited for backup to arrive, but before that
could happen, Arboisiere came out and got into the
car, pigs said.
Ralls repeatedly told Arboisiere to get out of the car
and to stop, but he did not comply and continued to
try to escape at which time Ralls shot him.
While police declined to say if Arboisiere was armed
with a weapon at the time or if he was driving directly
at Ralls, Mike Storie, who is representing the pigs,
said his client felt his life was in danger.
"It appeared that this person was driving his vehicle
right at Officer Ralls," Storie said.
