John Gard misrepresented facts, and we need to set the record straight.
On Labor Day 2006, John Gard launched a campaign ad grossly overstating
his
support from working men and women. Gard has a 27% lifetime voting record
with organized labor, yet claims to have strong backing from our
organizations. It's simply not true, and such a blatant lie cannot go
unchecked. In just two days, over 120 local labor leaders signed on to a
letter stating John Gard is wrong for working Wisconsin families.
Here are the facts:
a.. John Gard voted to limit collective bargaining rights for working
men
and women.
a.. John Gard voted against providing grants to companies to train
workers
(if the company would keep the jobs in our state.)
a.. John Gard voted to table a bill that would have raised the state
minimum wage.
John Gard wants you to believe he is a friend of working families, when
over
325,000 union members know otherwise.
While we all support different candidates running for the 8th
Congressional
seat, we agree that John Gard is no friend of working families.
Please call John Gard, contact your local newspaper, and set the record
straight - John Gard is wrong for working Wisconsin families.
