Senate Republican Serving On The Senate Appropriations Committee Robs America, & Good

by "Jay D. Scott" <orderofantihawk@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 10, 2007 at 12:38 PM

Exposing the earmarks, as it was made to be by law.

Ted Stevens (R. Alaska) is the only member of the Senate Appropriations
Committee who has disclosed a direct business relation****p between himself

and "an entity that receives federal funds."

Stevens continues to invest in JLS Properties LLC, owned by developers
Leonard Hyde and Jonathan Rubini. "He helped Rubini keep a $450 million
contract with the Defense Department for housing on Elmendorf Air Force
Base
near Anchorage."

"In 2004, two business partners of Sen. Ted Stevens sold an empty lot in
Anchorage to the National Archives and Records Administration for just
over
$3.5 million, more than doubling their year-old investment in the
property."

"The 83-year-old Alaska Republican has drawn Justice Department scrutiny
over a renovation project in 2000 that more than doubled the size of his
home in a resort town surrounded by glaciers.

The remodeling was overseen by Bill Allen, a contractor who has pleaded
guilty to bribing Alaska state legislators. Allen is founder of VECO
Corp.,
an Alaska-based oil field services and engineering company that has reaped

tens of millions of dollars in federal contracts.

Allen is cooperating with the FBI.."
