Stupidity on steroids

Would anyone like to offer a rational explanation of why we would pump
70,000 barrels of oil per day out of North Slope, ****p it to Texas, and
pump it back into the ground?

Would anyone like to guess why a (P)resident of the _UNITED_ States would
threaten to veto the discontinuance of this outrage?

Must be the Republican version of a "jobs" program.

The "Strategic Petroleum Reserve" already exists in several places and it
will not be jumping up and running away to Atlantis.  But there is
something to consider:  Cuba is making a deal with the Chinese to tap the
oil 60 miles south of Florida which is (according to current
unilateralists and nationalists) part of _OUR_ real "Strategic Petroleum
Reserve".

Can anyone offer a rational explanation as to why our (P)resident insists
on not having any dialog with the Cubans?  There is a lot of rightie crap
about "slant drilling" when the fact is that a reservoir of oil can be
tapped in a lot of different places. And as the oil is recovered more of
the stuff just seeps to the point of recovery; no slant drilling
necessary.

Why do we see an interest in that which will increase the price of
oil in the near term while ignoring the actual loss of oil in the future.

It would seem that a rational person would have been talking to Cuba long
before RIGHT NOW.

The Republicans are masters of distraction, always focusing on morals and
nationalism while they line the pockets of the rich.  The Republicans must
at all times use every weapon possible to attack the environmentalists
(and sometimes they need it) but only because the environmentalists are
easily associated with the Democrats. So the issue is always framed with
ANWR . LOOK OVER THERE....

The Republican leader****p (and that is NOT Pinocchio Bush) are not stupid.
But they rely very heavily on the stupidity of their followers.
