# We are also running out of time - drastic action now, or we're doomed
to
decimation or extinction.
There are too many of us humans, so the Vic State govt congratulating
itself on a Baby Boom Budget is ironic in the extreme.
Indeed, all the old mottoes are called into question - Growth, Profit,
Development, Progress - and it can't be "Business, as usual".
Nature recycles everything, and so should we - or Nature will
eventually
recycle the Human Species.
Economic means Frugal, but there is nothing frugal about modern
economics - except where wages are concerned.
Australia can't dig up and ex****t its coal and minerals fast enough, so
as to make a quick buck now, and to hell with the future.
Planet Earth is a finite and fragile ecosystem, and we human locusts
are
devouring everything in sight - the mass slaughter of sharks for their
fins
is one absurdity, as is the "scientific" culling of whales. Eliminating
the
Profit Motive would be a step, but that still leaves the Hungry M*****.
The assumption that Human Species is somehow unique, and can't die out,
will be tested in the next few decades.
