I don't recall the Dems opposing that.  I do know they opposed torture
with which I fully agree.

You mean that place in Cuba where the rule of law has been arbitrarily
suspended by the the Administration and a complicit Congress?

It provides too much power to government.  It should either be revised
to better protect citizens or have a short expiration date requiring
frequent review.

It's called Congressional oversight and there is way too little of it.
Far too much power has been ceded to or taken by the Executive.  It's
time to cut down the Presidency a notch or two and return power to the
People by returning power granted to the Congress by the Constitution
to the Congress which has been all too willing to give those powers
up.
