By no means am I saying that.  But the point I am making to the Governor 
is that we are in the Model-T days of alternative energy.  The good 
Swill believes that forcing people out of oil energy would force 
alternative energy; this isn't so.  

The fact is, we have been working on alternative energy for decades.  
And we actually have accomplished many things.  For instance, I live on 
the Great Lakes.  They are starting a program to use windmills about 
three miles offshore to create electricity.  We have plenty of wind, but 
the project will take at least another year before they can determine if 
it's worth it.  Also, we have a company here that produced a motor that 
runs on water.  Of course, not very environmental friendly because one 
of the g***** that is supposed to be so hazardous to our environment is 
water va****. 

Another interesting project is styrofoam houses.  The near perfect 
insulation allows the minimum use of fuel for heat and air conditioning.  
But, I don't know if I would want to be in one when a hurricane or 
tornado comes by.  

So yes, we have accomplished many things, but the ramifications of these 
projects still needs to be worked out, and you can't do that overnight.  
The best thing we can do in the meantime is produce enough of the 
current forms of energy we use now.

Trying to force the alternative energy industry to perfection by extreme 
oil prices is like trying to force Henry Ford into fuel injectors on our 
first cars.  It takes years for some of these experiments to become 
reality.
