The corruption of Louisiana politics is legendary in the US even by
modern Wa****ngton standards.  That they might appoint a non partisan
committee of any sort that might also act ethically in the interests
of the State or the People simply is not something I think is going to
happen.  The levees aren't going to be rebuilt or enhanced in any
meaningful way because Louisiana and it's citizens aren't willing to
pay for it let alone do it kickbacks and corner cutting.  No Louisiana
politician is going to long sup****t any project he can't pocket some
cash out of.
