my letter to insurance companies regarding handguns:

by misterfact <misterfact@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 26, 2008 at 10:56 AM

Hello;

Why don't you consider NOT insuring homeowners for stolen handguns?

That is- unless the gun owner provides a police re****t that shows the
gun(s) were stolen from a heavy duty SAFE (with your company's
specifications as to design, weight, mfgr. models, etc)

This would go a long way toward improving public safety since many,
if not most, guns in the hands of criminals today have been stolen
from law-abiding citizens who didn't use a safe!

It would certainly cut your losses from paying out money to
irresponsible handgun owners who can't seem to hold on to their
weapons!

As far as losing potential customers, consider:
HEAVY gunsafes are available for as little as $90. Most gun owners
would happily spend this small amount if it meant a reduction in their
premium for gun coverage. Certainly this reduction in premium would be
more than offset by less payouts for stolen guns from your company.
The vast majority of thieves are UNABLE to access or remove a heavy
gun safe in the time they are able to spend in a victim's home (or gun
store).

I have information on low cost, heavy duty gun safes.

  Sincerely, Michael Corman
