Kerry Nomination for President Is Official --In his turn in spotlight,
Edwards says Democratic ticket will restore respect for U.S. and make the
country safer. John F. Kerry was nominated as the Democratic Party's
presidential candidate Wednesday night after running mate John Edwards
praised the Massachusetts senator as a decisive and battle-tested leader,
and he urged voters to embrace the politics of hope over what he called a
low-road campaign by the Republicans.
With nomination sealed, roll call is all about bragging rights --John
Kerry's home state went first, but it was the key battleground state of
Ohio
that put him over the top. And so, 35 minutes after the roll call began
Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention, the Massachusetts
senator officially became the party's presidential nominee.
Hope is on the way --"When you wake up and sit with your kids at the
kitchen
table, talking to them about the great possibilities in America, you make
sure that they know that John and I believe at our core that tomorrow can
