Re: Dick Eastman's TRUTHBAZOOKA

Well first Dick, about Nader, who got his start with the book "Unsafe at
Any Speed". I usta work on cars, and spent uncounted hours in junkyards
scrounging for parts. I looked the Corvair, and it wasnt any less safe
than any other American car of that era. But Nader knew the public mind
set, which had been created to bankrupt Tucker, feared rear engine cars.

A noble cause, but Nader was clearly willing to lie to promote his
position. The evidence was in the junkyards.

Likewise, we see today how candidates rely, not on reasoned positions to
defend policy, but in emotional appeals to energize the base. Thus, not
all the deception was by the GOP. I read that the exit polls in NH and
NV under estimated the vote for Kerry; ie, in areas where the DEMs had
more control of the electoral process, while the GOP had it in OH and
FL, which really mattered. But since these states had GOP control, there
was nothing the DEMs could do.

I have a psych degree with a comp sci minor, and statistics was a core
course for both disciplines. I was also born on a farm, helped to clean
out the barn, and I know Bullschitt when I see it.

Thus, the exit polls where there was a paper ballot were right on, and
where there were voting machines, 5% off. Either the poll takers were on
the take, or someone gave votes to the machines, or... both. Either way,
the process is no longer trustworthy, so it begs the question of how we
can continue to pretend that what we have is a democracy.

And that being the case, what we should do about it. for sure, Dick, we
should look into it on the net. We may be able to make such a big stink
we can bring all out into the open. But then what? *BOTH* major parties
are party to the fraud. it looks like Kerry took a dive. how else could
he have missed so many op****tunities to win?

I have, for some time now, argued that the LP and the Greens have an
unprecidented op****tunity to form a more coherent coalition than what
either of the major parties have, and.... well the silence is deafening.
Where are the voices of reason looking for common ground?
