First and foremost I am neither Christian nor Muslim.
Having travelled through Muslim countries, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan by road
and I also travelled through Yugoslavia which has a fair number of
Muslims.
This was when I was travelling from UK to Australia. The trip though these
countries was when I rode my motor cycle from London to Calcutta, I then
flew from Calcutta to Darwin. I also have been to Egypt, but only in
Cairo.
I met many Muslims, and one can only talk as one has found, and I found
the
people I met to be most friendly, and in no way aggressive.
I can say the same thing about American, English, German etc who would
have
called themselves Christians.
On travelling on a motorcycle one meets everyday people, and I have slept
in
mud buildings used as sleeping places by truck drivers in Iran, and stayed
at various hostels through the world. This as well as quite well to do
hotels. I have wandered though the Bazaar in Tehran, and bought food from
street vendors. As I have said, I have met many types of people around the
world.
I cannot condone the aggressive acts of the way out bigots of both the
Christian and Muslim groups, who do not represent the normal everyday
people.
The hate seems to stem from these way out groups both the Christian and
Muslim, that do not want the normal everyday people lead their lives as
they
wish, but try and force them into the way out groups ideas on how they
must
live.
I see no difference in the way the Taliban and the Christian
Fundamentalists
work, both trying to force their ideas onto everyone else.
I have seen the hate between Christian fractions and it is hard to
understand how two groups of the same religion can hate so much, much the
same is now happening in Iraq between Muslims fractions in Iraq at the
moment.
I felt I need to write this in reply to the hate filled message above.
In the simplest terms there are nice Muslims in this world, as well as
nice
Christians.
Hate begets hate.
