Re: California's top court overturns gay marriage ban

What truly terrifies the fundamentalist Christians is that they know
they are fighting a losing fight.  Of course if they truly believed
the nonsense they spout about the end of the world coming they should
be rejoicing. The simple reality is that if one looks at the
opposition to same *** marriage it is very much generational.  The 50
and over crowd constitute the majority of the opposition to same ***
marriage.  The younger you go, the greater the number of people who
feel that it is a non-issue.  When one gets to the twenty somethings,
the majority simply do not view the issue the same way at all.  They
are far more likely to know gay people from work and the neighborhood
and have gay friends.  The old propaganda used by the fundamentalists
doesn't work on them.  So strategy wise the fundamentalists know that
if they want to pass constitutional amendments prohibiting same ***
marriage, they have to do it now.

There are now ten states that allow same *** marriage or its
functional equivalent.  Thousands of people in Massachusetts have been
married and the country has not fallen into the sea.  If California
were to start to issue marriage licenses to same *** couples as seems
likely in 30 days, then the country will see that life continues as
usual.  It will be no big deal at all and in another 5 years people
will wonder what all the fuss was about.
