Amicus Republicae

by hhelman@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Mar 4, 2006 at 05:25 AM

Welcome:

Whereas one might naturally suppose that the rigors of erudite,
academic debate procedurally select in favor of well-thought-out ideas,
suited to the explanation of particular phenomena, the reality is quite
surprising. Modern academia is adrift in a sea of postmodern
relativism. The doctrinaire ideology blinds otherwise intelligent
people from the truth, clouding their ideas and ultimately tearing at
the fabric of civilization.

This site is an attempt to ameliorate and, optimistically, reverse the
intellectually fraudulent manner of teaching that plagues our academic
institutions. We explore a variety of topics: from economics to
morality we hope to facilitate honest, open and well-informed debate
about the issues of our time. We do so with an understanding that
certain methods of thinking are inherently more adept at ascertaining
the truth; through that lens we hope to understand.
