Amicus Republicae- For all political aficionados

by "ebrainsh@[EMAIL PROTECTED] " <hhelman@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 6, 2006 at 08:39 AM

The Democratic Party's official website is a useful place to garner a
quick understanding of the liberal ideology appeal. For example, their
blurb on affordable healthcare makes the seemingly innocuous and
clearly egalitarian claim that "no one should have to choose between
taking their child to a doctor or paying the rent." Fair enough; but a
slightly closer analysis raises a few questions. If a parent should not
have to choose between those presumably mutually exclusive
alternatives, then her landlord and her doctor must forego their
ability to choose; that is, they must be denied their otherwise
uninhibited ability to charge a price they deem worthy of their
services.

What one hand giveth, the other taketh away.
