Preparations are now under way for my reproducing at my homepage
(hopefully,
within a few weeks, at least) this book (from 1975), which is a
vitally-developed continuation of the well-known "The Origin of the
Family,
Private Property and the State" by Friederich Engels (1884 - at the
Marxists
Internet Archive at
http://www.marxists.org/archive/marx/works/1884/origin-family/index.htm)
and
extremely im****tant for the understanding of the still very big gender
question (also called "woman question") in the world today.
I hold that the Marx adherents so far, on the whole, far too much have
neglected this question.
Non-Marx-adhering people too will benefit very much from reading this
detailed
and very well-researched account of how society, and in particular
men-women
relations, "worked" for a very long time up until some 8,000 years ago and
how
this came to undergo a basic change up until some 3,000 years ago, above
all.
The facts about this are being suppressed quite massively and fanatically
by
the ruling reactionary bourgeoisie, which is an indication too of how
socially
im****tant are these facts of history.
On this book by Evelyn Reed, of which I since long have a copy in Swedish,
and
earlier attempts of mine to get its English-language original on to the
Internet, see also NWBC 117 (08.03.2006) and NWBC 250 (08.03.2007).
I so far have at my homepage at least its table of contents (copied from
Amazon.com - they are out of copies of the book itself), which already
this
contains quite a lot of information of interest, I think.
