The Open Source Information System (OSIS)
The Open Source Information System (OSIS) is a virtual private
network -- a government intranet. It provides a protected environment
to exchange unclassified and FOUO/SBU US Government and other open
source data among Intelligence Community and other selected
organizations. The OSIS firewalls safeguard government information
resources and allow customers access to both the OSIS network and the
public Internet. This gives OSIS users a single point of access to an
unprecedented amount of unclassified open source information. OSIS is
operated by the Intelink Management Office (IMO).
How to Access OSIS Resources
Customers can remotely access OSIS with a commercial phone line via
modem dial-up, much like any Internet service provider (ISP). In
addition, users may now use any broadband connection (DSL, Cable,
NIPRNET, etc.) and the OSIS Contivity client to gain high-speed access
to OSIS.

We were both waiting for the perp walk, so we had nothing better to do
than to talk to each other. I was just out of college, trying to gain
some experience at a weekly before making the leap to a smallish daily.
He was the editor of the only other newspaper in the county and crazy
as a loon.
He was a Vietnam vet and seemed a little too Col. Kurtz for my tastes.
So we started talking.
Before too long, I realized he was bat**** insane.
"You know, the CIA is always looking for analysts..."
Huh?
"I'm really impressed with your knowledge of global affairs. Maybe you
could become an analysts for the CIA. I know some people."
I just stared at him.
Weirdo.
Lucky for me I didn't take him up on it, otherwise I could have been
John Bolton's *****.
