Say, am I the only one to think that it's just a bit odd that I saw at
least three ROK MPs wearing cammies and bright orange vests in my
neighborhood when I went to work today? The Ahssa! Official Korean
Military Source said, "Don't worry, it's an annual thing."
Since this is Ahssa! and not The Marmot's Hole, I'm going to speculate
a bit: You know, if I didn't know better, I'd think the government was
trying to prepare the populace for The Worst. I mean, Koreans aren't
stupid -- if they see stuff like that, it's got to get them
contemplating the idea that maybe this crisis should be taken much more
seriously than previous Near Death Experiences.
I have to say, too, that after a moments reflection, I realized that
the emotion I was feeling wasn't fear, it was anticipation mixed with
excitement. My fight-or-flight reflects were kicking in a just a bit.
I don't want a war or nuthin, but....
