Severe civil unrest due to lack of nutrition and jobs as prices continue
to
escalate to western levels but wages (except for the small upper class)
remain at developing-world levels. Not pretty, a big mess, but a big mess
which will occur on their turf, and none of our business outside of
humanitarian aid.

Hm? China's demographics are worse than ours. They are an ageing
population
that doesn't reproduce. I have no doubt they'll be staring hungrily across
the Bering Strait, but they'll be hungry for food, not resources or land.

Nor will we need to. These countries have little arable land. High

It's too soon to tell if its "fated" or not, but Mexico's economy is
growing
and their fertility rates are cra****ng. I've read some number of articles
talking about how in the next three to five years, the job prospects for
laborers in Mexico will be better than they will be in the US, possibly
even
leading to a reverse migration and illegals migrate back into Mexico in
search of better jobs.

Pat, you didn't connect the dots between "protecting our way of life" and
"immigration." The assumption Pat wants us all to make is that Mexicans
(Caucasian, hard working, Christian people) represent a "different way of
life." I'm not sold. The world, thanks to the magic of American
television,
is mutating rapidly into a world where everyone speaks the same languge
(and
it's English), dresses the same, takes their kids to Disneyland, watches
Hanna Montana, and eats at McDonalds. They are BECOMING THE SAME AS US
faster than immigration migration can take place.
Now, if we were Europe, where the migratory influence is Muslim, I would
agree that there is a "way of life" being threatened. But not in the US.
