Nationalism constitutes a basic and powerfull human sentiment,to which
gays are susceptible like anyone
else.Either because they will readily identify themselves with already
existing hetero***ual nations.Or because
they could,time passing,come to regard themselves as a nation and act
like one.In certain respects however,
gays are more than a nation,in the sense that they have means to act in
time and space which are different
from those of an hetero***ual nation.Hetero***ual modern day nations
are relatively recent affairs,which unlike gays did not existed when
mankind came into existence,and which could become extinct while the
existence of
mankind would go on.Hetero***ual modern day nations are also wholly and
geographically local affairs,whereas
gays are present in every place on earth where human beings dwell.Which
entails different concerns and methods of political organisation.Gays
do not have to contemplate the possibility of their extinction: they
have to ponder only about the risks of remaining under foreign hethro
rule.They also have the possibility of organizing themselves on an
international basis,and actually they will be compelled to do so if
they are to get an independent State of theirs.Because no local gay
group will ever be numerous and strong enough politically to set up
such a State.Setting up a gay independent State in one place will
require the participation in one form or another of gays everywhere.
