Yawn....here we go again. The division on civil rights was
conservative vs. liberal rather than Democrats vs. Republicans. The
sup****ters were northern Democrats and liberal Republicans while the
opponents were southern Democrats and conservative Republicans.
Barry Goldwaters "extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice"
seemed to ignore Blacks trying to vote. Strom thurmond left the
Democratic Party over the issue. The 1964 Democratic platform sup****ted
the Voting Rights Act, the Republican platform did not.
Ronald Reagan tried to repeal the Fair housing law in California.
Name some prominent conservatives who sup****ted these laws/
