Cook: Bush's History of Cruelty

Dear Friends,
=A0
The LA Times re****ts,=A0"Bush was told of the prison abuses as early as
last winter, presumably because administration and military officials
considered=A0it serious and wide-reaching."=A0
=A0
I am one of=A0many Americans who are not surprised that=A0George W. Bush
did=A0nothing about it.=A0
=A0
When there was talk in 2000 that Dubya might run for president, I "knew"
that nobody would vote for HIM.=A0=A0For one thing, it=A0was
clear=A0from his conduct as Governor of Texas that=A0this man=A0lacked
morality --=A0yet the American people SAID they insisted now on a
president who exhibited morality.
=A0
What was one of the=A0high-profile indications of low morals?=A0
When=A0Karla Faye Tucker was about to be executed and begged for
leniency, it was on record all over the media that Bush=A0mocked her
words=A0in a sing-song voice, "Please don't kill me."=A0=A0

The issue=A0is not about whether a convicted killer should die.=A0 The
issue is that Bush's attitude towards a condemned person was one of
childish cruelty --=A0nothing near the level of maturity and ethics that
we need in a leader.
=A0
When DNA evidence indicated that other condemned prisoners might
actually be innocent, Bush allowed no process to explore=A0these
cases.=A0 With no interest in justice for possibly innocent people,=A0he
proceeded routinely -- and frequently -- with a record number of
executions.=A0 Isn't=A0his unconcern over executing possibly innocent
people a=A0cold-blooded lack of humanity and morality?
=A0
The NYTimes re****ts that the worst cases of prison abuse in the US have
been "in Texas, whose prisons were under a federal consent decree during
much of the time President Bush was governor, because of crowding and
violence by guards against inmates.=A0

Judge William Wayne Justice imposed the decree after finding that guards
were allowing gang leaders to buy and sell other inmates as slaves for
***..."
=A0
Bush has a bad record when it comes to such human rights
issues.=A0=A0Isn't=A0absence of concern for human rights a clear
indication of=A0lack of=A0basic morality and common decency?
=A0
Add to this the hatred he stirred up in Americans with=A0his false
statements of connections=A0between Iraq and 9/11.=A0 Look up Rep. Henry
Waxman's detailed congressional re****t on "237 misleading statements on
Iraq."=A0

Add to all this Bush's=A0dismissal of the Geneva Conventions as mere
"legalisms" -- and what you have is a man who is no doubt guilty of war
crimes against humanity.=A0 Have soldiers felt justified in
torturing=A0Iraqis because of their president's lies about that country?
=A0
More is coming out about George W. Bush, and his family, who have been
selling arms to both sides of conflicts for=A0four generations.=A0

Body bags for our soldiers.=A0 Money bags for themselves.=A0 Moral
depravity to the level of treason.=A0 Re****ted ***ual depravity all
too=A0typical of their multi-generational Skull and Bones
affiliation.=A0
=A0
It is no wonder we are seeing such horrific photos coming out=A0during
this administration.=A0 They are accurate reflections of the criminal
and immoral consciousness of George W. Bush, and his=A0squalid family
history.
=A0
In conclusion, take a moment and imagine:=A0 What if our government had
respected the will of the people, the millions of people who tried to
stop the unjustified invasion of Iraq.=A0=A0Americans had an obligation
to know=A0that generations of Bush manipulations=A0for war have never
been moral.
