Omaumeg, signifying "people on the peninsula,'" but according to
their own traditions, it came from the word for pigeon.

Manhattan, killing seven people and damaging several buildings.
The cause of that accident, which occurred as workers raised the
crane, remains under investigation. A New York City building
inspector has been charged with faking an inspection re****t that
said he visited the site 11 days before the collapse, although
city officials have said the crane was separately inspected just
days before the accident.

Several histories of the Miami name exist. One story explains
that the "Miami discovered the Cherokee and were in the habit of
making war on them." The Miami fought the Cherokee three times
when the Cherokee decided to fight back.
Following the Miami to a prairie, the Cherokee saw two cranes.
The Cherokee ran after the cranes across the prairie and found
the Miami on the other side. Squawking, the scared cranes warned
the Miami of the Cherokee's approach. A battle between the two
soon followed. As the Miami and Cherokee struggled the cranes
became more and more loud and then flew away. At the end only
one Cherokee was left. When he returned to his village the
Cherokee man announced that his war party was defeated not by
people but by "the Twau twaus who could fly off at will."

Miami and even include some variations of the Irioquois and

burned the town, killing and eating La Demoiselle, and carrying

Little Turtle, hailed as the last Chief of the Miami Indians,
was born in 1782 near Devil's Lake, northwest of Churubusco in
Whitley County, Indiana. Little Turtle was the son of the Miami
chief Acquenacke and a Mahican mother. Soon after his birth, his
father moved the family to Ohio. As a young man, Little Turtle
earned respect as a warrior for being brave in battle. Me-she-
kin-no-quah later moved to the village of Ke-ki-ong-a. Kekinonga
means blackberry patch. This was the Miami capitol, now known as
Fort Wayne, Indiana.
He led defeats of Gen. Josiah Harmar's and Gen. Arthur St. Clair's
troops in the early 1790s. Little Turtle and his warriors were
not beaten until 1793, when Gen. Anthony Wayne and his garrison
routed the Miami at the battle of Fallen Timbers in August 1794.
This defeat effectively put an end to two decades of warfare.
The battle site is now a state park southwest of Toledo, Ohio.

On a serene September day in 1958 a grappling bucket on a
swinging crane bit off the roof of the east tower of Harrison
Hall. After a century and a third the old Main Building was
coming down. At various times it had included lodging rooms,
recitation rooms , the Literary Halls, a chapel, a library
chamber, the president's office, the secretary's office, a
printing room, a scientific laboratory, a gymnasium room, a
dining commons, an art studio and a theater. Early in 1959
foundations were laid for the second Harrison Hall, with twin

Arts Hall.
He spoke for twenty minutes on "The College Graduate's
Responsibility in Politics." After singing the Alma Mater,
students swarmed around him. No one knew that he would be
President and that recent Miami visitor Robert Frost would read
a poem at his inaugural under the sunlit dome of the Capitol and
that in four years both would belong to history. But there was
something electric in the September air. After that convocation
a re****ter in the Miami Student concluded: "Though not
committing himself as a candidate for the presidential
nomination, Kennedy gave indication that he is likely to be on
the ticket in the Ohio Democratic primary." More prophetic was
the Student columnist who saw in the young Senator "the
patrician in politics" and sensed in him "the coiled springs of
ambition and an air of mission." For both campus political clubs
the Kennedy visit was vitalizing. A year later, in the fall of
1960, the Miami Young Democrats were manning a campaign post
across from the Post Office on High Street, handing out ribbons,
buttons and literature.
Three years later, Friday, November 22, was a sunless day in
Oxford. On that chill gray afternoon the startling word
"assassination" went over the campus and people crowded around
radio and television screens for news from Dallas. At four

NEW YORK -- The last of seven bodies was pulled from the rubble
Monday at the site of a crane collapse that obliterated a town
house and severely damaged other buildings.
Six construction workers and a woman in town for St. Patrick's
Day were killed Saturday when the crane broke away from an
apartment tower under construction and toppled like a tree onto
buildings as far as a block away. The last three bodies were
found Monday.
A preliminary city investigation found that the crane toppled
after a steel collar used to tie it to the side of the building
fell as workers attempted to install it.
When the equipment fell it damaged a lower steel collar that was
a major anchor securing the tower crane. Investigators say that
with the elimination of the lower sup****t the counter-weights at
the top of the crane's tower caused it to fall.
The crane, which rose 19 stories, came cra****ng down on a
Manhattan neighborhood a few blocks from the United Nations on
the city's east side.
All the dead were construction workers except for a woman who
was in the four-story town house that was demolished when the
crane fell on it.

The two-story home with a Spanish-tiled roof was used in the
movie "There's Something About Mary" -- it's where Cameron Diaz's
character lived.

address at the "Sisters of Color" Conference, held at Western

Ok, first off, I get this little thing in the mail called 1000
Years of Darkness. Prepare yourself for alot of Uji talk
The tournment was The Sword of Spirits and whatever faction won
would be rewarded the sword that killed the Steel Chrysanthemum
by the Seppun.
I played a Dragon dueler who just got everything he needed when
he needed it. I ended up 2-3. Now, I'm blaming this record on
the fact that I drove 19 hours and didn't have a solid night
sleep, this might not be the actual reason but the op****tunity
to blame it is there and I'd be damned if I'm not grabbing it.
Danzen finished off in the top 8 but then fell to a Crane dueler,
I'm fairly certian he'd be blameing the travel time too... yeah,
thats it. The sword was eventually won by a Shadowlands player
over a Crab player
I picked Crane because I need another Celestial Sword and end up
building a honor/dueling deck
