Oh, poor Mitt Romney.. .poor, poor, Mitt Romney-
when will the horrible persecution of Mormons ever end?
Do you seriously think that you can lecture a gay man
about prejudice against Mormons?
The media has been constantly, self-righteously wringing
its hand and patting itself on the back, for getting on its own
high horse and lecturing about how awful it is that anyone
would have prejudice against a Mormon.
They forget- a gay man could not even THINK of being
becoming a credible candidate for President in our lifetimes,
because of a far greater, overwhelming prejudice. That fact
does not even seem to OCCUR to them, because of their
own bigotry and royal indifference.
They constantly fret about prejudice AGAINST Mormons
but will not mention a word about any prejudices OF
Mormons.
The history of the Mormon Church includes electroshock of gays
at Brigham Young University, where there were suicides of
gay *faculty*, much less students. You would have to put
a gun in the face of America's newshounds, before they
would touch those stories.
Moromon clergy have sometimes preached openly that it
is OK to beat up gays. I read an account of a young Mormon
who felt guilty about punching and decking a gay man who had
made a pass at him. The Mormon cleryman to whom he
confessed *praised* him for it.
Mormons used to follow gays into gay bars, snapping
their pictures. A relatively recent poll of students shows
that a majority of BYU think that gays should not be
at their University.
This is a Church that did not even accept blacks until
the 1970s. They may have gotten over that- very
belatedly- but with gays, they might not be over it
in the year 2070, because their is no pressure being
exerted in the media or in the political establishment.
Relgious bigots get praised and patted on the hand
for what they do and say.
Did Romney criticize Huckabee for saying that gays
are "unnatural" or "immoral"? Did he criticize Huckabee
for advocating HIV concentration camps?
No, he criticzes Huckabee for criticizing Bush.
Mitt Romney is the quintessence of a phoney politican-
a power-hungry, baby-kissing, professional bull**** artist,
a stuffed ****rt in an empty suit, with a haircut on top,
an ego-tripping Hindenberg parade float of a human being.
With the cynicism of pandering phonies like Romney,
it will take a violence to make change- otherwise this
game-playing would go on, forever. What it needs
is for gays who get discriminated against to get
guns to settle it, if they cannot get lawyers.
Students at Brigham Young should follow the
pattern of school shootings, if that is what it takes
to prove that attitudes are unacceptable, and just keep doing
and doing it, until the country gets the message and
gets off our backs. We've been oppressed for 3000 years,
and treated like dogs. We do not owe ANYTHING to
this society of bastards and hypocrites.
