Speaking of "spooky" things- it certainly occurs to me
that WFB probably made some real enemies with the
Bush administration, and fellow conservatives, when he
turned against the Iraq war. I wonder if some CIA "spook"
got him at the behest of Bush administration war-mongers
who were positively alarmed to see the ballyhooed
"father of conservatism" speaking against their precious war.
Nice thing about octopus-genarians like Buckley
(yes that's "octopus" as applies here, not "octogenerian")-
they are so easy to assassinate, because everyone expects
for them to die. Instant "plausible deniability". What a convenient
way to get rid of a trouble-maker, and not much burden
to the conscience, because they did not have long, anyway.
What might have gotten JFK killed might have also gotten
WFB killed. Maybe they are just trying to pin the rap
on a gay poet. On the other hand, maybe it was the
work of gay spooks who are poetry fans.
