Words

Words have power. Whether words of prayer or words of promise. Words
preceed action.

When a judge speaks, the guards act with the prisoner. When a
policeman speaks, criminals drop their weapons. When Warren Buffet or
Alan Greenspan speaks, business executives take note.

God's words are accompanied by power as well. When He spoke, the
universe was made. In the end, He will speak and let it transition to
another world. Jesus was also God's word to mankind. Behind that Word
from God was a power and a promise.

A centurion understood this concept as well. In Matt 8:5-13 we read
that the centurion's servant was ill. Jesus was about to get up and
go with him, to heal the servant, when the centurion stopped Him. He
said that, as a man in authority, he understood that Jesus need only
speak the word and his servant would be healed. Jesus praised this
expression of faith, and it was done, as the centurion believed.

God stands ready to act, if we will have faith in His Word. Trust in
God.

Genesis 1:3
"And God said, Let there be light: and there was light."

Psalms 33:4, 6
"For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in
truth...By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host
of them by the breath of his mouth."

Luke 4:3-4
"And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this
stone that it be made bread. And Jesus answered him, saying, It is
written,
That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."
