His Royal Majesty - Day 10 Devotional

by kenclifton7@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (K C) Aug 5, 2004 at 06:41 AM

God is our protecting, providing, and prospering King.

Luke 12:28-32 - NCV
"God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today but tomorrow
is
thrown into the fire. So how much more will God clothe you? Don't have
so
little faith! Don't always think about what you will eat or drink, and
don't
keep worrying. All the people in the world are trying to get these
things, and
your Father knows you need them. But seek God's kingdom, and all the
other
things you need will be given to you. Don't fear, little flock,
because you
Father wants to give you the kingdom."

So, what do you think about this? Do you think a citizen of a land
could go up to their leaders and say, "I reject your power over me and
wish to rule myself, but I want your government's benefits on me
anyway." What do you think the ruler would say? Do you think they
would say, "Oh, ok. Don't pay your taxes like the others, don't show
me any respect, and I'll still take care of you." Does that make
sense?

No, the leader would probably throw them in jail for failing to
fulfill the requirements of being a citizen. However, this is exactly
like most people treat God. The reject His reign over their lives,
but they want God to let them get rich, let them fall in love, let
them have children, and other things that God provides. There is a
reason the above verse says to FIRST seek His Kingdom before you get
the blessing. God honors those that trust in Him. He dishonors,
before Himself and others, those that do not.

Psalms 103:17-19
"But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon
them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children; To
such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments
to do them. The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his
kingdom ruleth over all."

Psalms 145:10-14
"All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless
thee. They shall speak of the glory of thy kingdom, and talk of thy
power; To make known to the sons of men his mighty acts, and the
glorious majesty of his kingdom. Thy kingdom is an everlasting
kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations. The
LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed
down."

Luke 9:1-2
"Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and
authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to
preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick."

1 Corinthians 4:20
"For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power."

1 Timothy 6:13-16
"I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things,
and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good
confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot,
unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in
his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the
King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling
in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen,
nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen."

Place your trust in the King of all men and spirits.
