"Fear Not" - Day 15

by kenclifton7@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (K C) Aug 10, 2004 at 06:29 AM

Want to know one of the most consistent and most often spoken words of
advice from God in the Bible. Here it is..."Fear Not."

Genesis 50:19-21
"And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto
good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones.
And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them."

God has been trying to get through to us about fear for a long time.
He has said it in many ways (see below), but, I guess, we want to
believe our fears more than our faith. Why should that be? Fear is
based upon only fear, while faith is based upon the Lord our God and
His Heart for us.

God has a long history of telling us to "fear not" in His Word. He
told Joshua to courageously enter the Promised Land (Joshua 1:9). The
angels announcing Jesus' birth (Luke 2:10) began by saying, "fear
not." He taught His followers to not fear the love of God (Luke
12:32). Angels told the witnesses of the resurrection not to fear
(Matthew 28:5). Through Paul in Philippians 4:6, we are also taught by
God to "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto
God."

God is confident of His ability to care for you. You can trust that
confidence and His ability. What do you have to lose in trusting Him?
Will fearing and doubting Him be more effective than that peaceful
reliance?

Perfect love casts out fear...trust His love for you.

Joshua 1:9
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not
afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest."

Isaiah 43:1-2
"But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that
formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have
called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou p*****t through the
waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not
overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be
burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee."

Mark 4:38-40
"And he was in the hinder part of the ****p, asleep on a pillow: and
they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we
perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And
he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no
faith?"

God can still any storm in your life. That's why HE's God. Trust in
Him.
