-day 24-
Psalms 34:8
"O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that
trusteth in him."
We serve a good God. He is not good by our standards. We judge
ourselves by His standard. Further, he is not good because we deserve
it. He is good, because that is how His is.
We can trust in the goodness of God. Jesus, in John 10:11 and 10:14,
calls Himself the "good shepherd," and Proverbs 30:5 reminds us that,
"Every word of God is pure." The Lord is good and His mercy endures
forever (Psalm 100:5, Jeremiah 33:11), and His goodness does not
change (Psalm 52:1, James 1:17). In fact, He is the source of goodness
in us, as goodness is the fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22).
Numbers 23:19
"God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he
should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he
spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
Title of God: Our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6)
-God is righteous (Daniel 9:14) and is the source of the good in our
lives (James 1:17) Therefore, God sees His own goodness, through
Christ's redemptive act, when He looks at us.
Trust in the goodness of God.
