The truth of thr Gospels ca b inferred from this.

When Jesus died, his followers were in funk. They decided to go back to
their jobs.

The the women who had gone to propely pepare the body for burial came
running back- the tomb was empty!

The twelve (now eleven, after the suicide of Judas)  soon found that
Jesus had ben raised from the dead, just as He had said He would.

Ater the Ascension, the eleven disciples elected a new mmber to replace
Judas (Matthaias), and began spreadig the Gospel.

Of these twelve, eleven were to be martyred for their new faith (only
John would die of old age).

This is the key. These men believed what they had seen. They could not
have made up this story and stolen the body. No man is willing to die
for what he knows is a lie.
Even if one were to do this, would twelve? The fact they were willing to
die for this is evidence that they knew SOMETHING had happened...
