For several months now, NPR has been running a series in which they ask
people to give their impressions of someone's voice. For example, Marlon
Brado's voice is "the s**** explaining to Eve what just happened," and
Carol
Channing is "the Keebler Elf's wife who chain smokes."
Among those voices up for review today was that of Joe Lieberman.
A flat tire on a Segway - Greg Pyne
A soggy brown paper bag - Tess Wilson
A turtle standing on a stack of telephone books - Tim Rossiter
A grease stain on a new silk blouse - Susan Edwards
A dog's squeak toy after the squeak has been removed - Matt Underwood
The cowardly lion's petite weaselly, older brother - Dawn Francher
A discarded banana peel - Michael Daukrof
Like Gumby and Pokey were his speech therapists - Tina Biegel
And of course, no serious study of the Lieberdrone could be complete
without
this mention.
Max White [the father character on the TV show Alf] reprimanding Alf for
trying to eat the family cat, Lucky - Jami Dennis
Personally, I've never found that accurate. I think he sounds more like
Philip Drummond, the father character in "Different Strokes," explaining
to
Willis and Kimberly why he's a perfect parent and everyone else is wrong.

.... he sounds like Fran Drescher on two bottles of Nyquil.
Joe sounds like a wet fart in church...
