In the latest controversy fabricated by the Democrats, we have a phony
hero,
Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) and a pandering political op****tunist, Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) accusing radio talk show host Rush
Limbaugh of grievously insulting our troops. It is almost too comical to
be
believed.
Senator Harkin is known for famously concocting combat experience in
Vietnam, much in the same vein as John Kerry's Cambodia fantasy, and both
Reid and Harkin undermine our troops at every op****tunity, providing of
course, it is not too obvious to the voters. This transparent and rather
clumsy attempt at shaping the political environment prior to a
presidential
election is predictable and standard practice for a party so willing to
lie
that the truth is seldom found in their public statements or in their
polices.
"Last week, Rush Limbaugh went way over the line, way over the line. While
I
respect his right to say anything he likes, his unpatriotic comments I
cannot ignore. During his show last Wednesday, Limbaugh was engaged in one
of his typical rants. This one was unremarkable, indistinguishable from
his
usual drivel, which has been steadily losing listeners for years, [sic]
until he crossed that line by calling our men and women in uniform who
oppose the war in Iraq, and I quote, "phony soldiers.[sic]" - Senate
Majority Leader Harry Reid
Having heard Rush's comments, I can only shake my head. Do the Democrats
think the American people are so stupid that they will not go to the web
and
read exactly what Rush said? It seems they are so in the thrall of the
radical propaganda machines of MoveOn.Org and Hillary Clinton's sup****t
staff in Media Matters for America that they merely follow orders. I very
much doubt that either of these senatorial geniuses actually read or
listened to the comments they so ridiculously condemn. The legacy press is
misrepresenting the issue at every op****tunity as well. On 1 October,
German-born journalist Klaus Marre of The Hill wrote:
"Democrats on Monday called on the chief executive of Clear Channel
Communications to denounce remarks by radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh,
whom they say made a "hateful" and "unpatriotic" attack on U.S. troops
opposed to the war in Iraq. At issue is a remark from Limbaugh that
characterized such troops as "phony soldiers." Democrats have seized on
the
issue, allowing them to hit back at Republicans who similarly latched onto
a
MoveOn.org ad that referred to Gen. David Petraeus as "General Betray Us."
This is exactly what did not happen. I am always astounded by the shoddy
work today's journalists get away with. Klaus Marre appears to be
following
the low standards of the popular German press while working here, a
harmonious convergence of American and European intellectual dishonesty.
Rush actually said this:
RUSH: "It's not possible intellectually to follow these people."
CALLER: "No, it's not. And what's really funny is they never talk to real
soldiers. They pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and spout
to
the media."
RUSH: "The phony soldiers."
CALLER: "Phony soldiers, if you talk to any real soldier and they're proud
to serve, they want to be over in Iraq, they understand their sacrifice
and
they're willing to sacrifice for the country."
Later in the session Rush updated the audience to whom the caller was
referring:
RUSH: "Here is a Morning Update that we did recently, talking about fake
soldiers. This is a story of who the left props up as heroes. They have
their celebrities and one of them was Army Ranger Jesse Macbeth. Now, he
was
a "cor****al." I say in quotes. Twenty-three years old. What made Jesse
Macbeth a hero to the anti-war crowd wasn't his Purple Heart; it wasn't
his
being affiliated with post-traumatic stress disorder from tours in
Afghanistan and Iraq. No. What made Jesse Macbeth, Army Ranger, a hero to
the left was his courage, in their view, off the battlefield, without
regard
to consequences. He told the world the abuses he had witnessed in Iraq,
American soldiers killing unarmed civilians, hundreds of men, women, even
children. In one gruesome account, translated into Arabic and spread
widely
across the Internet, Army Ranger Jesse Macbeth describes the horrors this
way: "We would burn their bodies. We would hang their bodies from the
rafters in the mosque."
Now, recently, Jesse Macbeth, poster boy for the anti-war left, had his
day
in court. And you know what? He was sentenced to five months in jail and
three years probation for falsifying a Department of Veterans Affairs
claim
and his Army discharge record. He was in the Army. Jesse Macbeth was in
the
Army, folks, briefly, forty-four days before he washed out of boot camp.
Jesse Macbeth isn't an Army Ranger, never was. He isn't a cor****al, never
was. He never won the Purple Heart, and he was never in combat to witness
the horrors he claimed to have seen."
After reading the context of Rush's comments, it is clear the Media
Matters
representation is blatant misrepresentation of the truth that they believe
the American people are too stupid to see through. Much as they think our
military is too stupid to assess the situation in Iraq. They also think we
are too stupid to handle our own money, or our children's education, or
even
understand any of the myriad issues the Democrat party cherry picks to
push
their socialist agenda forward.
Media Matters for America is not a media-accuracy watchdog group or a
think
tank. They are a Clinton-organized and Clinton-run propaganda factory, a
Soros-funded disinformation machine that will spin, smear and lie in
sup****t
of the Clinton Presidential campaign and for leftist issues while
providing
plausible deniability to its behind the scenes managers. Rush has been
targeted because of his influential conservative voice, just as Tom Delay
was targeted for his effectiveness in congress, or the Vice President's
office and Scooter Libby, or a dozen other examples that did or did not
succeed.
The Democrats are assessing the impact and fallout of this recent tactic
right now, fingers in the air of public opinion, ready to alter course
should it backfire. If it does, expect statements from the Democrat
leader****p or even Hillary herself asking for calm or saying that MoveOn
or
Media Matters went a bit too far. The Democrats are reasonable and fair
people after all, right? It will be caveated and sugarcoated, and it will
be
yet another manipulation. The next attack will come quickly; the next
targets are already chosen. It will be non-stop until Election Day. The
legacy press will carry their message as ideological allies, context and
truth be damned. Understand this, the press more often than not knows they
are lying, and enables and sup****ts that lie.
I have never heard Rush discuss our military with anything but respect and
appreciation. He, unlike the Democrat leader****p, is sincere and
consistent
in his admiration. Rush was right on target with his comments, as he so
often is. Jesse Macbeth and his ilk are despicable. The "phony soldiers"
deserve nothing but our contempt. Like anyone who falsifies military
honors
for personal gain, they are usually cowards, fools or both. In a time of
war
when they feed lies to the press that will be used by the enemy against
us,
they betray us all. For elected representatives to defend them is
despicable. For those same representatives to use the military in partisan
politics is treachery.
The American people are in the midst of a radical leftist disinformation
campaign the likes of which we have never seen before. The Democrats are
feeding us lies and half-truths in a way that should disgust any
reasonable
citizen. Unfortunately, many will succumb because they are too busy, too
lazy or too propagandized to care. Media Matters for America, MoveOn.org
and
groups like them are destroying what took generations to build. The
Democrats are happily helping them. If we do not fight their tactics and
their ideology now, we will watch our hard-won freedoms slip away. They
will
have been stolen by lies.
