This should not surprise you. The Party members have always been the 
privileged class. Stalin complained about this "careerism" among his 
good ole boy network. But what can you do? If Party member****p is 
unattractive, no one will join. Even Lenin agreed to Party stores where 
the workers could not enter, in 1918 (!). And all of our current 
commies are hoping that someday the revolution will come and propel 
them into positions of power. I guess they are in denial about what 
happened to Trotsky when the commies came to power.
