Re: Nothing governments can do about rising oil prices: oil expert

Thanks for that Dave.

I don't go for most of that stuff, however, though I do sup****t
massive expansion of public trans****t, taxing unnecessary 4WD's etc,
off the road and turning off lights in public buildings etc... These
are measures that should have been taken years ago because they go
against anti-social capitalistic waste. I think that his analysis is
fraudulent and an intentional or otherwise cover for the oil
companies.

Likewise the man made climate change. Essentially what they are
getting the world's people into is a huge increase in prices to pay
for these dubious claims and the huge revenues involved will go to the
energy monopolies and the new "environmentally friendly" industries -
for which there is a mouth watering clamour. The name of the game
today - convert everything into a commodity and create new
=93industries=94 commodities - fraudulent or otherwise - doesn't matter.
To do this they need a new element in the equations to square with
their economic analysis =96 man-made global warming =96 you might call it
the =93externality to end all externalities=94. I was recently talking to
a couple of Australian resource economists and they share a deep
scepticism on this question - but have to shut up because the
situation is stacked against them.

Work this one out:
=95	Australia sells natural gas for 40 cents per litre covering all
costs including compression of the gas for BUT Australia faces a $25
billion trade deficit in petroleum products by 2015.
=95	Australia pays anywhere from about $8 billion to $25 billion to
im****t the oil and gets a paltry $4 billion for the gas that sold to
overseas countries.
