The actual quote is: 'The philosophers have only interpreted the
world, in various ways; the point however, is to change it.'
Your omission of the word 'only' speaks volumes and indeed this quote
has been used by pragmatists the world over for decades to avoid
serious study. Marx wrote his 'Theses on Feuerbach' in 1845 after a
long and serious study of philosophy and yet you and so many others
use this quote to avoid any study of philosophy at all! Marx
castigated previous philosophers for ONLY interpreting the world
without changing it. It wasn't a call to abandon philosophy it was a
call to USE that knowledge to change the world.
