Which probably works as an answer to my original questions. The problem
then becomes whether the SO are actually influential enough in the
campaign to steer it in the proletarian direction. 

All of this is not exactly in my line of experience, you see, as I'm
used to doing electoral politics within the New Democratic Party, which
is still a genuinely labor-based social-democratic party. We don't have
to build one.
