What appears to be happening is that the Islamic
radicals are denied possession of Mogadishu, and they
proceed to ensure that if they cannot have it, no one
else can have it either.
This was the tactic they successfully employed to gain
power in Afghanistan. So long as they were denied
power, they engaged in random destruction, which
eventually persuaded people to let them take charge of
Afghanistan.
We just have to outwait them, which is easy to do so
long as most of their victims are their fellow Muslims.
As Iraq demonstrates, it is difficult to protect Muslims
from each other, so we should not try.
