Rubbish, the issue is that an steadily expanding population is
consuming ever dimini****ng resources at an ever increasing
rate.
Most of the clean personal trans****tation technologies use
materials of limited supply, bio-fuesls will starve the world,
rechargeable cells for vehicle power use metals of limited
availability, fuel cells need vast amounts of electrical
power to produce the reactants, and hydrogen is not
the safest of materials to have on our roads.
Having pretty well used up most of the resources on
this planet, and polluted what's left, it's time to migrate
out into space.
Send the politicians first so they can set up their
little empires, followed by lawyers and the used
car salesmen..
Anyway war is much more profitable than farming,
it stimulates technical progress and reduces the
population.
