Wrong, Zed.

The "difference" in parties is how the government views
IT'S role in dealing with redistribution of
wealth---whether it comes from---or to, cor****ations.

You (maybe) didn't live under a system of
"redistributiobn" where cor****ations were taxed at 70%
(pre-reagan)

Businesses thrived, fell, or prospered as they always
have.  Reagan---because of the malaise of the 70's,
instituted the "voodoo, trickle down" crap----lowering
the tax rates to almost nothing (on businesses,
cor****ations and the wealthy)--but didn't lower the
outflow of funding for anything

Reagan upped the Military spending to astronomical
heights---then touted the "revenue" that those
military-related jobs created.  

The shortfall kept growing---the burden to replace the
revenue fell on the middle class----at the state and
local levels---while the deficits kept growing.

There is a chasm of difference between the fiscal
policies of the republican party, and the philosophy of
how the government interacts with "people".  

The mantra of "less government interference in your
life..." has nothing to do with individuals---it has to
do with "interference in business, cor****ations,
capital, finances, related to regulations, standards of
products and services.

The "less government" (of conservatism) is related to
"redress of grievances" and has to do with protectin
businses and cor****ations from accountability and
product  liability

OTOH, Democrats differ---because they believe that
government is a "partner" with people---using the
"redistributed wealth" in policy that benefits
"collective" groups (instead of the individual wealth,
cor****atons, business, etc)

Yes, they both use, or are influence by cor****ations

But the policies, the laws, the regulation differences
are miles apart.
