Ya know JeffyLoon---That's almost verbatim what Jesse
Helms and Strom Thurmond said in a campaign (aired on
C-Span) a few years ago

Asked if why they (now) sup****ted the Civil rights
Legislation (outcome)----they replied:  "Because the
law changed".  They implied that they "liked the law as
it used to be---not because of segregation (snicker,
there), but because of the "States rights" issues
involved with desegregation.

So, if the law hadn't changed----then it's logical they
would still be segregationists and racists.
