The Eurpoeans have had a punitive sin tax on oil since WWII.  And they
have viable public trans****tation.  We do not.

I looked into battery car kits.  The lowest model conversion (48V)
sells for about $2,200 without batteries or the mounting hardware for
batteries.  It will go between 30 and 40mph, and a range of 20 to 30
miles.  That should be just about enough speed to piss off every
commuter between here and work, and be sure to have a white t-****rt to
hang out the window when it runs out of juice on the way home.  Wear
comfortable walking shoes.

Car choices are Ford Fiesta, Geo Metro, or VW Rabbit.
