I want to apologize on behalf of this Mio turd, he/she/it gives 
conservatism a bad name.  Do please understand that he/she/it is not an 
example of true conservatism, but rather of NEO-conservatism, which in 
fact bears no resemblance whatsoever to true conservatism.

Neoconservatism is more of a fascist authoritarian statism philosophy, 
whereas true conservatism is more of a minarchist Constitutionalist 
libertarian philosophy.  The two are wholly incompatible.

Even Ronald Reagan, who failed to reduce the size, scope, and reach of 
the Federal Government as he promised, said that, "I believe the very 
heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism."  And yet the very 
same neocons who pretend to venerate Reagan with their lips, in their 
hearts mock the very concept of (little-L) libertarianism.  

Neocons are every bit as sold on the nanny-state as was the Communist 
Soviet Union.  Only, they are more dishonest -- claiming to honor the 
fundamental principles laid out for us in the Declaration of 
Independence and in the US Constitution; but in reality mocking and 
scorning the concept of TRUE social freedom and TRUE free markets.

Don't let them fool you!  Neoconservatives are fascist in their core, 
but true conservatives are libertarian in their core - sharing more in 
common with CLASSICAL liberals than we do with Neocons.  Neoliberals and 
Progressives share more in common with Neocons than they do with 
CLASSICAL liberals also, but that's another discussion for another time 
and place.
